Group Lessons -- 5 years old through Adults
Registration for Learn to Skate Session 5 will reopen on February 1
To participate, you must register and pay in full before class begins. Registration is currently closed for session 4 and registration for session 5 will reopen by 2/1.
Learn to Skate Session 4 is FULL. Registration for Session 5 is filling fast. Sessions include five Sundays from noon to 1 PM. Registration for Session 5 will reopen on February 1.

Because of numerous ice skating events (live and on television) and the buildup to the Winter Olympics, Session 5 is expected to fill early. It is recommended that you enroll early so you are not excluded from the fun.
About Learn to Skate
The Penn Ice Rink's popular Learn-to-Skate sessions and Tot sessions are split into age and skill-appropriate classes and are offered to children starting at 5 years old through adults and seniors.
Each session Includes:
- Five weekly 25-minute lessons, plus 25 minutes of practice time
- Ability-based evaluation and class placement
- Free skate rental
- Free admission to Sunday Public Skating during the session duration
Cost
In addition to the class fee of $175, a supplemental Learn To Skate USA membership is required at a cost of $18.50, which is paid once per season.
Sunday Session Dates: All times are noon to 1 PM with free admission to the following public session 1 PM to 2 PM.
Session 1: Sept 28, Oct 5, 12, 19, 26
Session 2: Nov 2, 9, 16, 23, Dec 7
Session 3: Jan 4, 11, 18, 25, Feb 1
Session 4: Feb 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22
Session 5: April 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10
Wednesday Tots Class* -- Recently, we have seen renewed interest in this Wednesday program. If you are interested, please email harkinsr@upenn.edu
Lessons for skaters aged 3 to 5 are on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Each session includes
- Five weekly 30-minute lessons, plus 60 minutes of practice time
- Ability-based evaluation and class placement
- Free skate rental
*Tot sessions may be cancelled if enrollment levels are below four students.
